1. Who we are
ChronoLedger is operated as a personal project. For questions about this policy, contact us at: [email protected].
2. What data we collect
- Account data: username and email address, collected at registration.
- Financial event data: transactions, asset prices, and related events that you enter into ChronoLedger. This data belongs to you.
- Usage data: standard server logs (IP address, timestamps, pages visited). These are used for security and debugging only and are not shared with third parties.
- Your country, as our network provider (Cloudflare) derives it from your IP address, is used only to choose the language a page opens in when you have not chosen one. It is not stored.
- Interest in a plan: if you leave your email address on a pricing page to be told when the paid plans are available, we keep that address, the plan and any note you add, only to send you that one message. Ask, and we delete it.
Prices are fetched from Yahoo Finance by ticker symbol. Nothing about you or about what you hold is sent with that request.
We do not collect payment data at this time. We do not use advertising trackers or sell your data to any third party.
3. Why we process your data
- To provide and operate the ChronoLedger service (contract basis).
- To send password reset emails (legitimate interest / service operation).
- To maintain server security and diagnose errors (legitimate interest).
4. Data storage and security
Your data is stored on servers hosted by DigitalOcean (Amsterdam, EU). We apply standard security practices (HTTPS, hashed passwords, environment-based secrets). No security measure is 100% guaranteed; use ChronoLedger at your own risk.
5. Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data.
- Object to or restrict processing of your data.
- Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.
6. Data retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data (scenarios, events, prices) will be permanently removed within 30 days.
7. Cookies
ChronoLedger uses only functional cookies: a session cookie for login, a security cookie that protects forms (CSRF), a cookie that remembers the language you chose, and one that holds your timezone so dates are shown in your own time. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics cookies.
8. US users (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of your data, and opt out of the sale of your data. We do not sell personal information. For requests, contact us at [email protected].
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of ChronoLedger after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
